KDS Properties has filed an application with the City Design Review Board to build a two-story, 36,000-square-foot office/retail structure at the corner of Main Street and McBee Avenue.
According to the application, a nationally known pharmacy will anchor the ground floor and include a drive through area in the rear of the site, which has been vacant since the early part of the decade.
The site is a dirt pit walled off from view with a wooden fence. Artwork created by students from local schools has adorned the walls since 2002. Artwork will incorporated onto the McBee side of the development, according to the application.
The second floor will serve as office space and have a rooftop feature for its tenants that can be leased for special events.
The city’s Design Review Board will hear the developer’s request on Dec. 3.
