Industrial hydraulics maker Bosch Rexroth announced this morning that it plans to add 50 jobs in Greenville County as part of $10 million upgrade to its Fountain Inn operations.
The company currently employs 400 people at its facility in the Southchase Industrial Park. In addition to the industrial hydraulics, the company also makes piston units and pumps at the plant.
The investment will allow it to manufacture hydraulic motors used in oil drilling, transportation and other industries as well as lays the ground work for future expansions.
“The consolidation of our operations here, while a challenge for the Bosch Rexroth organization overall, is a very positive development for our plant,” said Keith Beasley, Bosch’s vice president and commercial plant manager.
Work will start in next few weeks as new equipment is brought to the plant. It will begin hiring managerial and manufacturing positions by the end of the year. Interested people can contact www.boschjobs.com or call (864) 467-0330.
This is the second jobs announcement this week in Greenville following American Truetzschler Inc., a subsidiary of Trützschler Group, promise to add 30 jobs to its Greer plant as part of a $3.5 million expansion.
The Greenville Area Development Corp. and the state commerce department worked on both projects. It follows a 2009 year where 909 jobs were announced via the GADC.
That number does not include 150 office jobs that AVX Corp. announced in December it was moving to its Kyocera-Mita plant, which also is in the Southchase park.
