Investigators returned to the scene where a 55-year-old homeless man was found beaten the morning of Aug. 31, looking for evidence that might spark an arrest in what has become a homicide case.

Authorities have yet to be able to piece together the details of who might have attacked Terry Steven White or why.

White was found severely beaten and unresponsive three weeks ago off West Blue Ridge Drive near Cedar Lane Road in Greenville County. He died two days later at Greenville Memorial Hospital without ever regaining consciousness.

To try and generate leads in the case, the Sheriff’s Office this week invited the news media to photograph deputies as they posted Crime Stoppers posters at businesses in the vicinity of where White was found and follow along as investigators attempted to talk to folks who live or work near the scene.
